Glorious Global Gang!
April 12, 2016
Children in Kippax, Cross Gates, Beeston and Pudsey have taken part in After School ‘Global Gang’ clubs, learning more about Children’s Rights locally and globally. The 5 week programmes were kindly funded by Leeds City Council’s Area Committees and support Leeds’ aspiration to be a Child Friendly City.
Children took part in upcycling art, baking, drama and role play games to learn more about the rights children have all around the world, using fantastic UNICEF materials.
Here’s what some of the children thought:
“I found it useful learning about where footballs were made”
“I felt brilliant and awesome”
“Not all people in the world have equal resources”
“I understood more about Fairtrade”
“I made new friends and learnt more”
“I learnt how to be helpful and courageous”
Thanks to all the children who came- you were inspiring super stars and wonderful role models!
